And yet, we keep sending young people over there where they will be injured in these horrible ways, and turn our backs on them when they return. Boot camp dismantles the cultural backbone, and combat results for almost all soldiers in PTSD, according to many veterans. Civilians are overwhelmingly the victims.
Surely one role for scientists is to question the value of war, one of the greatest enemies of public health. Many treat this as sacred territory, treating war with more reverence than religion. Perhaps instead of trying to tease out the effects of TBI from PTSD, we can work on a way to eliminate both.
Thanks for the article, which points out the madness of our policies and assumptions.

Veterans Village has started the first Vouchers for Veterans; i.e., our Veterans' Courts will provide the needed transfer to the Veteran Village where the needed paradigm shift will be provided including business ownership within a faith-based systemic change.
So needed

Thank you for the indepth article covering a field of interest to all Veterans, and family member's who know someone with a TBI injury.

Recently US Senator Akaka (Hawaii) as Chairman of Veteran Affairs had new legislation signed into law covering the needed research in this medical area!

Thank you as I know all interested research facilities will work around the clock to find the needed answers.
